Lee Johnston

29-year-old Lee Johnston is both an accomplished short circuit and road-racing competitor. The diminutive Ulsterman honed his skills with top-flight British championship competition, winning the Junior Superstock title in 2008.

His Isle of Man TT debut in 2012 was well documented as a high profile newcomer, and went on to lift the Monster Energy Privateers’ Championship at the 2013 event with East Coast Racing.

The quirky young Ulsterman set a blistering lap of 126.358mph on his way to 11th place in the Senior TT in 2013 aboard his privateer Honda, and followed it up with a double podium, and a phenomenal 131mph lap at the Ulster Grand Prix in August of the same year.

In 2014 Johnston raised the bar once again with a double at the North West 200 in the Supertwin class; bravely picking himself up off the tarmac after getting taken out of a race winning position in the Supersport encounter.

He also tasted success for the first time at Scarborough during the 2014 Gold Cup event in the Supersport class, where he also took the same 600cc machine to third place in the feature Gold Cup event at Oliver’s Mount. His 2014 season ended at Macau with a fine fourth place for East Coast Racing.

In 2015 Lee continued his success as 2015 NW200 Superstock Race Winner and a podium in the Superstock TT. He achived 3 Race wins at 2015 Ulster GP and was awarded 2015 Ulster GP Man of the Meeting.

In 2018 Lee took Honda Racing to their first international roads podium with the new Fireblade CBR1000RR SP2 at the North West 200 with an impressive third and fourth places in the Superbike races.

Lee secured a solid sixth place finish in the RST Superbike race at the Isle of Man TT and third place in the Locate.im Junior Classic TT Race.
